Tottenham Hotspur youngster Troy Parrott “will head off on loan” if Spurs can bring in another forward in the summer, according to Football London‘s Alasdair Gold.
The 18-year-old forward, who has previously been compared to Tottenham legend Robbie Keane, is one of the most highly rated youngsters to come through the Spurs academy in recent years.
Parrott has been prolific for Tottenham’s age group sides in recent years, and was handed his Spurs senior debut in the League Cup by Mauricio Pochettino earlier this season, as well as extending his contract at the North London club.

To date, the 6ft 1in starlet has four senior appearances for Tottenham – though Jose Mourinho had resisted calls to give him more game time amid Spurs’ crisis up front earlier this year – and a cap for the Republic of Ireland.
With Harry Kane and Son Heung-min fit again, plus Parrott having taken time out to recover from appendix surgery, calls for his inclusion have lessened since the restart, and in the summer, Mourinho could well look to bolster his attacking ranks.
“If they can bring in another striker, Parrott will head off on loan, with plenty of Championship clubs interested,” Gold wrote on Football London when asked about the youngster’s prospects of senior minutes next season.
TBR View:
Parrott has certainly shown that he’s a cut above and, though Mourinho is eager not to place too much pressure and expectation on his shoulders, he’s undoubtedly a player who, with the right tutelage, can go on to great things.
It’s worth remembering that Harry Kane had to bide his time before breaking into the Spurs first team, with several loans away from N17, and it worked a treat.
The same approach should be taken with Parrott, a “classic street footballer with excellent technique and keen instincts” and the 40th best youngster in world football, according to Goal.com‘s NxGn rankings from earlier this year.
