Tottenham Hotspur have become the latest club to be linked with a move for Christopher Nkunku, with Foot Mercato reporting this week that Spurs are monitoring the RB Leipzig youngster.
Nkunku has been bright during his two years with the Bundesliga side. The 23-year-old has scored seven goals and contributed eight assists in all competitions this term.

This comes after a campaign in which the versatile Frenchman had provided 15 assists in the top flight.
So it is no surprise that the likes of Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United are all keen on Nkunku, according to Foot Mercato. Bild reported earlier this season that he would cost around £35 million.
And perhaps Tottenham fans can take further encouragement from comments Julian Nagelsmann made about Nkunku shortly after his move from PSG.

“Christopher can play as a box-to-box midfielder, No.10, winger, striker,” he said, as reported by the Bundesliga’s official website. “I didn’t want a forward who was restricted to just one position but can take up a number of positions during a game.
“He’s versatile and has real quality in attacking one-on-ones. He also fits perfectly with our transfer DNA as a young player with great potential who can take steps forward.”
TBR View: Spurs fans may particularly appreciate Nagelsmann’s view amid reports
Of course, it is particularly notable that it is Nagelsmann lauding Nkunku. According to reports, he is also on Tottenham’s radar amid speculation over Jose Mourinho’s future.
The Telegraph reports that Nagelsmann will be Spurs’ first-choice if Mourinho is sacked. So perhaps there is a chance that Daniel Levy could end up targeting a double deal.
It certainly appears that Tottenham need things to change both on the pitch and in the dug-out. Signing a player with ‘real quality’ would certainly be a step in the right direction.
