A number of fans have replied to Roshaun Mathurin after the Tottenham Hotspur youngster took to social media to express his gratitude following a landmark moment in his fledging career this week.
Mathurin had already confirmed his spot as one to keep an eye out for at the weekend. The 17-year-old scored a hat-trick as Spurs’ under-18s thrashed Chelsea 6-1 on Saturday.

And he appears to have been rewarded for that performance. The youngster confirmed on Twitter that he had taken part in his first training session with the first-team.
Of course, Jose Mourinho’s men are gearing up for their Europa League last-16 first-leg tie with Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday.

Mathurin has, understandably, not been named in Spurs’ squads for the competition (via UEFA). But the experience will still be incredibly valuable.
The wide-man will relish the chance to work closely with some of the world-class players Tottenham boast, particularly in attack.
And he can surely set his sights on following the likes of Dane Scarlett and Marcel Lavinier and making his senior debut at some stage.
Understandably, Mathurin – who was born a couple of days before Gary Doherty scored for Spurs in a 1-1 draw with Manchester City in 2004 – felt compelled to take to social media to mark the occasion. And plenty made sure to congratulate the teenager in response…
