Spurs fans react to Son Heung-min interest reports

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from Defensa Central this week claiming that Zinedine Zidane is pushing for Real Madrid to target Son Heung-min.

Son has been outstanding for a number of years. And yet, the Spurs striker has still managed to feel a revelation for Jose Mourinho’s side this season.

He has scored 16 goals in all competitions. And The Telegraph recently reported that Spurs are confident that he will soon sign a new contract with the club.

The report claimed that Son is set to see his wage increase to £200,000-a-week in North London. Nevertheless, it appears that he is attracting attention.

According to Defensa Central, Zidane would love to take the 28-year-old to the Spanish capital. In fact, it is claimed that he is pushing the Real Madrid board to try and sign the forward at some stage.

However, the report did note that there are some big stumbling blocks making a move seem unlikely. Firstly, Madrid would need to offload a number of players or wait for the pandemic to pass to be in a financial position to make a marquee signing.

Also, it is suggested that his asking price will far exceed £90.7 million (€100 million).

‘Not for sale’

And it does appear that few Tottenham fans are particularly worried about the prospect of losing Son. Many have reacted to the reports by ridiculing Zidane for thinking that he could sign the forward.

And while Defensa Central notes that €100 million would not be enough to tempt Spurs into a sale, some supporters clearly feel that even mentioning that figure as anything like a potential starting point is way off the mark.
