Joe Rodon’s brother and a number of supporters have taken to Twitter after noticing a moment during Wales’s win on Wednesday involving the Tottenham Hotspur summer signing and Gareth Bale.
Wales ensured that they won their Nations League group with a 3-1 victory over Finland in Cardiff. But it was a significant night for another reason for Rodon.

Jose Mourinho will have been delighted to see Bale taken off just after the hour mark. The 31-year-old was extremely impressive. And his substitution simply looked to be designed to hand the forward a rest.
Of course, it is normal for a captain to hand the armband to another player on their way off if they are substituted. But what Bale did as he exited the stage has been lauded by a number of Wales and Spurs fans.

Bale approached Rodon and put the armband on the young centre-back. It really appeared to be a statement with the 23-year-old making only his 10th appearance for his country in the victory.
Understandably, it proved to be a proud moment for Rodon’s family. His brother Sam posted a video of the clip on social media with the word: ‘Incredible’.
And plenty of Spurs and Wales supporters also felt compelled to laud Bale for seemingly making such a point of handing Rodon the armband.
His teammate was clearly aware of how special an occasion it would have been for the Tottenham defender. And it would be no surprise to see him wear it a lot more often in the future.
With that in mind, here is what Rodon’s brother as well as a number of fans posted on social media following the superb moment…
