Spurs fans react on Twitter to Weston McKennie interest reports

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on a surprise report from Calciomercato.It this week suggesting that Spurs are monitoring Weston McKennie’s situation at Juventus.

McKennie has been a revelation since arriving in Turin on loan in the summer. The midfielder has started seven Serie A games for Andrea Pirlo’s side. He has also featured five times in the Champions League.

According to Calciomercato.It, Juventus can make his move from Schalke permanent for £16.8 million plus bonuses. But while it may seem to many like a formality that Juventus will keep the 22-year-old, a number of Premier League sides are apparently lurking in the background.

The report claims that Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United are all interested in McKennie. It would appear that their only hope however, would be for Juve to reject the chance to keep the youngster.

The report has attracted a mixed response from Spurs fans on social media. Some are clearly adamant that Tottenham have absolutely no chance of signing McKennie. And thus, they are not getting carried away by the reports.

But there are others who have expressed a desire to see him in North London. They feel that he would be an ideal addition to Jose Mourinho’s midfield options – even if signing him seems an ambitious hope at best.
