A number of Spurs fans have taken to Twitter after reports from the Daily Mail claimed that they are interested in Sasa Kalajdzic.

It appears that Tottenham are going to be looking for at least one new striker in the summer. According to the Mail, they are not prepared to trigger the £36 million option to keep Carlos Vinicius.

It remains to be seen if they can negotiate a smaller fee for the 26-year-old. But should Vinicius return to Benfica, it appears that Jose Mourinho will push for a move for Kalajdzic.

According to the Mail, the Austria international is on Tottenham’s radar. It comes after a campaign in which he has scored 14 goals in the Bundesliga for Stuttgart.

The 6ft 7ins forward has actually only started 17 games in the top flight this season. And his record is even more impressive when you consider that he endured a nightmare first campaign in Germany due to injury.

The report has prompted plenty of Spurs fans to discuss the prospect of signing him this summer.

Some are not overly excited by the links. The issue of finding the right backup striker has plagued Tottenham for a number of years now.

But those who have seen Kalajdzic a little more believe that he could be an outstanding signing. He is obviously good in the air. But he is also a player who makes clever runs and can unleash a thunderous shot.
