A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to laud Sam Johnstone following his latest performance for West Brom – which included a stunning penalty save.

The Baggies have given themselves an outside chance of a miraculous escape. They followed up their incredible win at Chelsea by thrashing Southampton 3-0 on Monday.

West Brom were the much better side against the Saints. But they were also grateful to Johnstone for producing a couple of amazing stops.

One came during the first-half as the ball ricocheted towards him at a corner. The other came to deny James Ward-Prowse from the penalty spot in stoppage-time.

According to FB Ref, Johnstone has made more saves than any other goalkeeper this season. So it is little surprise that several clubs are reportedly interested.

According to ESPN last week, Spurs are one of the sides who want Johnstone. In fact, they reportedly lead the race. And that may explain why his penalty save and overall display did not escape the attention of some of their fans on social media.

Plenty have taken to Twitter to laud the 28-year-old. And it appears that his admirers only feel more strongly that he would be an inspired signing this summer.

With that in mind, here is what some of the Tottenham fans were saying about Johnstone in the wake of Monday’s game…
