A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to a report from Spanish outlet Defensa Central concerning Sergio Reguilon’s future.
Reguilon’s situation is one that will rarely be far from the supporters’ minds over the next year or so.

As noted by Football London, Spurs spent almost £28 million on the left-back in the summer. However, as part of the deal, Tottenham agreed to leave Real Madrid with the option to re-sign the Spain international for around £43 million.
The report noted that Los Blancos have the option to bring Reguilon back either this summer or next year. However, the clause will expire after the 2022 summer window.

The good news is Defensa Central has claimed that Madrid have made a decision ahead of the end of this season. And it is suggested that they are not currently planning to bring him back this year.
Unsurprisingly, the news has gone down incredibly well amongst Spurs fans. The opening months of Reguilon’s time in North London have been extremely encouraging.
The 24-year-old – who earns around £48,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – looks to be the best left-sided option available to Jose Mourinho. And he looks to have the potential to get even better as he gains more consistency.
So plenty of the supporters have insisted that it would be fantastic news if he did stay put. Many are not getting carried away given that this will not be the last we have heard of the buy-back clause. But the early signs are incredibly positive.
With that in mind, here is how some of the fans have reacted to the reports…
