Spurs fans react on Twitter to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s derby display

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg once again showed why he currently seems to be destined to one day secure a place in Tottenham Hotspur folklore after producing a stunning performance in the North London derby win on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho’s men went back to the top of the Premier League. They beat Arsenal 2-0 with Son Heung-min and Harry Kane both producing outstanding finishes during the first-half.

Spurs were ruthless. But they did come under some pressure. And Mourinho’s side were more than happy to let the visitors take the large majority of possession.

One of the key reasons why they were unable to turn their possession into goals was the performance of Hojbjerg in the middle of the park.

The Dane has been an inspired signing since arriving in the summer. And he was a standout performer once again. He has settled into Mourinho’s system so seamlessly.

There never appears to be a wasted movement from the 25-year-old. He reads the game so well. And he always appears to be in the perfect position when Spurs need him to be.

Unsurprisingly, many supporters took to social media to laud his performance. Bringing him in in the summer has proved to be a masterstroke. And it is impossible to argue with those who believe that he has become one of the most important and influential midfielders in the Premier League.
