Spurs fans react on Twitter to Nikola Milenkovic reports

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from Calciomercato concerning Spurs’ interest in Nikola Milenkovic.

It would be little surprise to see Jose Mourinho look at strengthening his defensive options this summer. He has not been able to quite settle on a centre-back pairing for a prolonged period.

Eric Dier is currently out of favour. Meanwhile, Toby Alderweireld recently turned 32. And it appears that Joe Rodon is not yet the finished article following his arrival last year.

It does seem that Tottenham may be looking to add to their options. According to Calciomercato, they are one of the clubs to have made contact with Milenkovic’s representatives.

Fiorentina are reportedly growing resigned to losing him this summer. His contract expires at the end of next season. And it is claimed that the Serie A side’s hopes of agreeing an extension are slim at best.

Calciomercato also suggested that his asking price has dropped significantly. Last summer, La Viola wanted €40 million. However, his valuation is now down by at least €10 million to around £25.7 million.

The suggestion that Spurs have made contact has delighted a number of their supporters on social media.

Many feel that Milenkovic would be an outstanding signing for Mourinho’s men. The Serbia international is only 23, but has been a stalwart in the Italian top flight for a number of years now.
