A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sunday Mirror (24/1; page 72) over the weekend suggesting that Spurs are considering making a bid for Max Aarons.

Aarons has long been considered one of the brightest talents at Carrow Road. It seemed a big statement for Norwich City to keep the full-back over the summer following their relegation.

Unsurprisingly however, he continues to attract interest. And The Sunday Mirror (24/1; page 72) reported on Sunday that Spurs are continuing to keep a close eye on the 21-year-old.

It is claimed that the club’s chief scout Steve Hitchen watched him while in attendance at Norwich’s game last week. And it appears that they are weighing up a move for the £20 million-rated youngster at some stage in the future.

The reported interest in Aarons has gone down incredibly well amongst Spurs fans on social media.

Jose Mourinho appeared to address Tottenham’s right-back situation in the summer. It certainly looked to be a coup to sign Matt Doherty from Wolves.

However, Doherty has probably not lived up to expectations so far. So perhaps it may be a situation that Mourinho could look at again in this or a future window.

Based on the reaction to the latest reports, signing a new right-back would be an incredibly popular move – if Aarons is the man to come in.

Some hope Spurs may have an advantage in the race thanks to Oliver Skipp – whether that is down to any a good relationship the two teams may enjoy after agreeing the midfielder’s loan deal in the summer, or by Skipp talking up a potential Tottenham move to his current teammate.

With that in mind, here is how some of the fans have reacted to the reports…
