Spurs fans react on Twitter to Matthew Hoppe interest reports

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from 90min this week suggesting that Spurs are one of the teams monitoring Matthew Hoppe.

Hoppe has burst onto the scene in recent months in Schalke. He went into this season awaiting the chance to make his first-team debut for the Bundesliga strugglers.

But he enjoyed a remarkable run in January, scoring five times in three games. And his emergence has not escaped the attention of a number of big clubs.

According to 90min, the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs have been keeping an eye on the teenager.

And it appears that some of the fans would love to see the youngster end up in North London. He is certainly an incredibly exciting talent, already demonstrating a lot of composure in front of goal.

He makes clever runs. And he has the confidence to produce a piece of skill. The Bundesliga has unearthed a number of outstanding prospects in recent years. And Hoppe looks to have the makings of another.

There is some concern about whether Spurs need another attacking prospect. Troy Parrott is potentially heading into a crucial period in his Tottenham career. Meanwhile, Dane Scarlett has been given a few opportunities by Jose Mourinho this term.

But some clearly think that Hoppe would be a brilliant signing if a deal could be done.
