Spurs fans react on Twitter to Marco Asensio reports
A number of Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from Spanish outlet Marca claiming that Marco Asensio rejected the chance to join Tottenham this summer.
Asensio is still looking to prove that he can rediscover the form that he showed before sustaining an ACL injury that kept him out for 11 months a couple of years ago.
He has only made a handful of substitute appearances for Real Madrid this season. In total, he has been on the pitch for less than an hour. And it seems that he was offered the chance to leave the Bernabeu during the window.
Marca reports that Spurs and AC Milan both offered the 25-year-old the opportunity to move on during the summer. It is claimed that both clubs showed serious interest in the winger.
However, Asensio reportedly rejected the pair. He reportedly remains determined to re-establish himself in Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
The reports have attracted a number of responses from Spurs fans on social media.
One supporter suggested that such a deal would have been amazing. He previously looked to be one of the most exciting talents in Spanish football.

But for many, not signing Asensio in the summer seems to be a blessing in disguise. Some have their doubts regarding whether he is the same player he was before his injury.
And a few have insisted that Bryan Gil is clear of the Real Madrid man.
