A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Lucas Moura’s performance in the North London derby on Sunday.
Jose Mourinho’s men tasted defeat against their bitter rivals at the Emirates. Erik Lamela had given Spurs the lead before Arsenal turned the game around. And Lamela was sent off during the second-half.

Unsurprisingly, a number of players came in for criticism on social media. There is little excuse for players to not step up for such an important game – particularly off the back after a superb run of form.
But one member of the squad who has been lauded following the game was Lucas.

The Brazilian – who earns £80,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – was the one player who seemed to show real intent throughout the contest. And it is clear that the supporters had not one problem with his work-rate.
As shown by Whoscored, he was one of only two Spurs players to make a key pass during the game. He managed two.
Meanwhile, he made two tackles, and won five aerial duels – more than any other player on the pitch.
He also completed four successful dribbles. Once again, no player managed more.
And that prompted plenty of supporters to insist that he was Tottenham’s best player. In fact, barring a couple of exceptions, he seems to be the only candidate for any credit.
