A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mail suggesting that Koen Casteels is on the club’s radar.

The goalkeeper situation is one that Jose Mourinho may have to address this summer. Hugo Lloris seems to be struggling to recapture his previous form.

The Daily Mail suggests that he could be on the move this summer. And it is claimed that Nick Pope is their number one target. However, there is an issue.

The report suggests that Pope is set to cost at least £30 million. And that may leave Tottenham priced out of the running for the Burnley stopper.

Instead, they are considering potentially cheaper options. And along with Mike Maignan, Casteels is on their radar.

Casteels has one cap for Belgium. But he has been a regular fixture in Roberto Martinez’s squads in recent years. And he has impressed for Wolfsburg this season.

The report seems to have divided some of the fans on social media. Some are clearly angry about the idea of going for a cheaper option. Tottenham need to elevate themselves back up the table, and that is going to be harder while shopping for bargains.

However, those commenting on Casteels feel that he could be a very good signing. He has done well this year. And some have even suggested that they would rather have Maignan or Casteels than Pope.

Here is what some of the Spurs fans make of the reports…
