Spurs fans react on Twitter to Julian Araujo reports

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter after a report from the Sunday Mirror (10/1; page 70) claimed that Spurs are stepping up their pursuit of Julian Araujo.

Tottenham look to be well-stocked for options at right-back. But that has not prevented the club looking at targets who could contend for that role in the future.

Araujo is reportedly on their radar. And according to the Sunday Mirror (10/1; page 70), Spurs are stepping up negotiations as they look to agree a £5 million deal.

It is suggested that any move is likely to take place in the summer. Araujo has reportedly come onto Tottenham’s radar having been scouted during the most recent MLS season.

The reports have attracted a mixed response from Spurs fans on social media. Understandably, there are plenty who are unsure about a move for the 19-year-old.

The teenager is an unproven talent at the moment. And Tottenham’s last move for an MLS right-back did not turn out particularly well for the North London side.

However, those who have seen Araujo a bit more regularly have given a move their backing. Several have suggested that he is an extremely bright talent. And some feel that there may be little for Tottenham to lose by agreeing a move for the defender.
