Spurs fans react on Twitter to Idrissa Gueye reports

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to a report from Le Parisien this week which hinted that Idrissa Gueye had been offered to Spurs in talks over Dele Alli.

Dele is certainly one of the players to watch in the final days of the window. He has been linked with a move away from North London for some time now.

According to Le Parisien, he is set to join Paris Saint-Germain on loan. The deal is not said to include an option to buy.

Interestingly, the report has also claimed that two PSG players were previously mentioned in talks as potential makeweights for the 24-year-old.

According to Le Parisien, the Ligue 1 side were open to offering Gueye or Julian Draxler to Spurs. Ultimately however, it appears that neither is set to make a move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And it appears that plenty of Spurs fans are disappointed about that fact – particularly in the case of Gueye.

Draxler has his admirers. But many supporters clearly feel that the 31-year-old would have been a potential gem alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the middle of the park.

‘Would have been perfect’

Gueye – who cost £29 million (via Guardian) – was outstanding during his time with Everton. Admittedly, he has not been quite as influential at Parc des Princes. But some clearly think that that should not have put Spurs off when his name was seemingly mentioned in talks.
