A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Harry Winks’s display after he came off the bench during the second-half of their win over Southampton on Wednesday.
Winks will be one of the players certainly hoping for a fresh start this week. The 25-year-old seemed to fall right to the periphery of the squad under Jose Mourinho.

The midfielder had made only one Premier League appearance between the end of January and the end of Mourinho’s tenure. And there were a couple of occasions where he was not even named in the squad.
Ryan Mason did not recall him to the starting lineup for the clash with the Saints. But he did bring him on with 17 minutes remaining.

And while he was only on the pitch for a short period, it seems that Winks – who earns £50,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – managed to make a big impression on the supporters.
Several felt that he was extremely impressive. They appreciated the energy and intensity that he brought to the side as Spurs chased a winner against Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men.
Admittedly, there is a lot of caution about the optimism fans are feeling. There are much bigger challenges ahead for Tottenham.
But given that Mason has only been in interim charge for a couple of days, there is hope that Winks’s display is the first step towards a dramatic turnaround.
