A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to express their disbelief following an incident during Manchester City’s FA Cup victory over Everton on Saturday.
Spurs take on Aston Villa later today. And they will have to contest that game without Erik Lamela.

Lamela was sent off during last week’s North London derby. The Argentinian picked up two yellow cards in quick succession during the second-half at the Emirates.
The second came as he caught Kieran Tierney in the face with his arm as he looked to fend the Arsenal left-back off. And in truth, it was difficult to argue with the decision to book Lamela for that challenge.
However, Spurs fans have taken exception to that decision following a similar moment in City’s win at Goodison Park.

Richarlison was left needing treatment after being caught by an arm from Fernandinho during the early stages of the tie.
Interestingly, the referee in charge of that game was Michael Oliver – who was the man to send Lamela off.
This time around however, Oliver did not take any action against the Manchester City star. He would be booked during the second-half for a block on the same player.
And that decision certainly left many Tottenham fans feeling incredibly frustrated. They cannot see any difference between the two incidents, and thus, cannot fathom why Lamela was shown a second yellow while Fernandinho went unpunished.
Here is how some of the Spurs fans reacted to Oliver’s decision…
