Spurs fans react on Twitter to Davinson Sanchez’s display

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Davinson Sanchez’s performance as Spurs thrashed Burnley 4-0 on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho’s men were outstanding going forward against the Clarets. Gareth Bale scored twice, while Harry Kane and Lucas Moura also got on the scoresheet.

But they are not the only members of the Tottenham squad to produce hugely impressive performances. In fact, plenty of fans have taken to social media to laud Sanchez.

The Colombian – who earns £65,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – has tended to divide opinion, particularly this season. But many felt that Sunday saw one of his best performances of the campaign.

He made an important intervention early on when Jay Rodriguez got close to the six-yard box. And from that point, Burnley rarely looked like getting amongst the scoring.

As shown by Whoscored.com, he won two tackles and made eight clearances. Meanwhile, he won 11 aerial duels. He was the only player from either side to make it into double figures in that particular area.

It would certainly be little surprise to see Mourinho put more faith in the pairing of Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld moving forward.
