Spurs fans react on Twitter as report makes Serge Aurier claim

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from L’Equipe this week claiming that Serge Aurier is open to returning to Paris Saint-Germain.

It looks set to be a busy summer in North London. Of course, a new manager is set to come in. And the fans may be hoping that that opens the door for a number of changes amongst the squad.

One of the players apparently facing an uncertain future is Aurier. L’Equipe reported that Mauricio Pochettino is interested in being reunited with the right-back at Parc des Princes.

And interestingly, the report suggested that Aurier would not be against a return to Paris.

The notion that Aurier is open to heading back to Ligue 1 seems to have prompted a consistent reaction amongst Spurs fans on social media.

Aurier – who earns £70,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – is a player who has been outstanding at various stages throughout his time with Tottenham. However, there have also been a number of hugely costly mistakes.

And after making a superb start to this season, Aurier appears to have gone off the boil once again in recent months.

So it is probably not a huge surprise that some of the fans would be more than happy to see him sold at the end of the campaign.

Spurs will be hoping to bolster their transfer kitty by moving some players on this summer. And if Aurier is one of those who attracts offers, the supporters would like to see the club let him go.
