Spurs fans react on Twitter as report claims they want Diego Costa

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from La Razon claiming that Spurs are interested in Diego Costa.

Costa has had a poor season so far. The 32-year-old had only scored twice in La Liga. Nevertheless, it would be no surprise to see him attract numerous offers.

That is because the Spain international is now a free agent after his departure from Atletico Madrid was announced this week.

And interestingly, Spanish outlet La Razon has suggested that Tottenham are one of the teams who have the former Chelsea striker on their radar.

Unsurprisingly, the reports have attracted a strong response on social media. Costa is a player who divides opinion, and it does appear that there is something of a mixed reaction to the reports.

Admittedly, it does seem that a greater number of fans want nothing to do with the forward. Costa has come in for criticism throughout his career. And his return to Atletico did not prove to be a success.

Having said that, there are some who would actually be intrigued by a deal. Costa previously enjoyed a lethal spell while working under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.

And it appears that some are all for a roll of the dice considering that he would be able to come in on a free transfer.
