A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight for Ryan Sessegnon after the youngster scored his first goal out on loan.
Sessegnon was part of the Hoffenheim side that played out a 3-3 draw with Stuttgart on Saturday. Unsurprisingly given the scoreline, it proved to be a dramatic contest.
The home side went 1-0 up and 2-1 down before fighting back to lead 3-2. However, Stuttgart managed to take a share of the points in stoppage-time.
So Sessegnon may feel a real sense of frustration following the game. But he will also be pleased to have scored his first goal since leaving North London in the summer.
The 20-year-old scored Hoffenheim’s second with a superb burst into the box. There were a couple of excellent touches from the youngster before he slid the ball past the goalkeeper.
It was a goal that may have particularly evoked memories from when the Spurs man burst onto the scene at Fulham. And that will please a lot of Tottenham fans.
Overall, it was a good display from the wide-man. As shown by Whoscored.com, he made three tackles, three interceptions and two clearances.
And a number of Spurs supporters have suggested that it was exactly what they wanted to see from Sessegnon.
Despite not making the best start following his £25 million move (via BBC Sport), the youngster could still have an incredible future ahead. Jose Mourinho, of course, previously claimed that he thought that Sessegnon was ‘absolutely fantastic’ (via Football London).
And the fans are hoping that Saturday’s goal was the first sign that he is really getting his confidence back.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to his strike…
Great to see Sessegnon get some game time and get a goal. Hopefully continues this season then can break into the Spurs team next season. Great talent https://t.co/sEAoZLxtoX

Given the fact that we aren’t playing with the lop-sided full-backs anymore. I can’t think of a better backup for Reguilon than Sessegnon. Just needs to get his confidence back which he’s starting to do
