Spurs fans react as Oliver Skipp sustains injury on England U21 duty
A number of Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to express their frustration after Oliver Skipp appeared to sustain a groin injury on international duty with England under-21s.
Skipp was named in the starting lineup in Milton Keynes. Lee Carsley’s men faced Kosovo in a Euro 2023 qualifier. And they went on to win 2-0.
Skipp’s inclusion came with the 20-year-old enjoying a superb start to the new campaign with Tottenham. But it also came amidst a backdrop of a really frustrating international break for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.
Of course, there has been all of the bizarre goings-on concerning Cristian Romero, Giovani Lo Celso and Davinson Sanchez.
The trio are reportedly set to miss Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace after going away for South American World Cup qualifiers.
And the club were dealt a further blow this week with Son Heung-min missing South Korea’s latest game due to a calf injury.
Unfortunately, the problems have seemingly not ended there. Skipp became the latest to sustain a problem.
It appeared to be a groin injury. And it has left Spurs fans feeling incredibly pessimistic ahead of the return to Premier League action.
Of course, Tottenham currently lead the way. They have won their opening three games 1-0.
‘Not allowed to be happy’: Spurs fans react to Skipp injury
And Skipp has been at the heart of their success. He is starting to form a really impressive partnership with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
So to lose him for any substantial period would be a huge blow. But Tottenham fans do not seem overly surprised that they have had to deal with another setback.
With that in mind, here is how some of the fans reacted to the situation surrounding Skipp…
Son injured. Skipp injured. You’re not allowed to be happy for too long as a Spurs fan

I can handle a Kane or Son injury. But a Skipp one? My week has been ruined and I demand an end to international football.

Hahaha Oliver Skipp is now injured too. Just need Kane to complete an utterly dreadful international break. Ready for it to all go downhill now
