Spurs fans react as Newcastle eye Cameron Carter-Vickers

A number of Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from SBI Soccer over the weekend claiming that Newcastle United are in talks to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers.

It would be little surprise to see Carter-Vickers leave Tottenham permanently this summer.

The 23-year-old has not played for Spurs since the 2016/17 campaign. Instead, he has now gone out on loan six times.

His spell with Bournemouth appears to have prompted a number of clubs to eye a potential permanent move.

Along with the Cherries, SBI Soccer reports that Anderlecht and Newcastle have entered into talks over a move for the centre-back.

Interestingly, it is claimed that Spurs want around £9.9 million for Carter-Vickers.

The report has divided some of the fans on social media. Some believe that Tottenham should take one final look before discarding Carter-Vickers for good.

There was a time when he looked destined for a superb career. And he has done well at the Vitality Stadium at a time when Tottenham’s other defenders are hardly thriving.

Others however, feel that getting anything near £10 million would represent a brilliant bit of business.

It does appear that Carter-Vickers’s future does lie elsewhere. So for many, the time is right to cash in while he is attracting interest.
