Spurs fans had a night to forget on Thursday as their side fell to a 1-0 defeat at Vitesse in the Europa Conference League.
However, one Tottenham player did emerge with some credit – Dilan Markanday.
The 20-year-old is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in the Spurs academy.

Markanday has a staggering six goals and two assists from just seven Premier League 2 appearances this term.
He also weighed in with two assists in the Papa John’s Trophy win over Stevenage in August.
Markanday’s efforts have seen him in and around the first team this season.
And on Thursday, he made his Spurs senior debut, coming off the bench to get 19 minutes at the GelreDome.
Markanday looked lively in his cameo appearance, clocking up some decent stats and looking better than quite a few teammates.

He completed a team-high two successful dribbles out of three, made one tackle, delivered one long ball, won four ground duels and drew a free kick.
Though he couldn’t make much of an impact on the game, Markanday certainly looks first-team ready and could well be in line for more minutes.
One Spurs fan even compared him to N17 icon Jermain Defoe:
