Eric Dier has told Tottenham Hotspur’s official website that he cannot wait to play Leeds United this weekend, labelling Marcelo Bielsa’s side a breath of fresh air.
Leeds have certainly captured the imagination following their return to the Premier League. They sit 11th in the table, having scored 30 goals and conceding just as many.

They scored five times twice in their last four games. And they conceded six in one of those fixtures in between. So they have definitely been box office viewing since sealing promotion.
Their next game sees them travel to the capital to face Spurs. Jose Mourinho’s men, of course, are looking to get back to winning ways having not won a league game since the North London derby.

And ahead of the game, Dier expressed his excitement to come up against Bielsa’s men.
“I can’t wait for this one. I’m really excited to play them,” he told the club’s official website.
“The way they play is great, they’ve been a breath of fresh air. Marcelo Bielsa is a manager who has a lot of influence in football, including here, I guess, through Mauricio Pochettino.”
It should be a fascinating game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Predicting Leeds’s results with any sort of confidence seems to be nearly impossible.
Meanwhile, few managers arguably have a better record when it comes to stifling sides with a clear philosophy than Mourinho. And he may feel that his side have a point to prove amid their current struggles.
One thing that is for certain is Dier will not be the only one really looking forward to the contest, and seeing how it plays out.
