Tottenham Hotspur are likely to bolster their ranks in the January transfer window in wake of a difficult end to the year.
Spurs began the season in rampant form, surging to the top of the Premier League table, but their form has since suffered due to a host of injuries and suspensions.
The Telegraph has published a report looking at what positions Tottenham are looking to strengthen in January, and which players they could target.
Apparently the ‘most likely winger for Spurs to target in January’ is Al-Ittihad attacker Jota, a player Postecoglou knows well.

The 24-year-old been heavily linked with Tottenham in recent weeks, and the article claims Spurs are ‘likely to look at a loan deal or a free transfer for Jota’.
Jota has struggled in Saudi Arabia since his £25million move, as he has been unable to get much game time due to a rule surrounding how many foreign players can play at one time.
To date, the Portuguese has made just 11 appearances for his club since joining in summer, clocking up just over 500 minutes and two goals.
Tottenham Hotspur eyeing Al-Ittihad winger Jota
Obviously it remains to be seen what Al-Ittihad plan to do with Jota. Considering they paid a pretty penny for the player, it seems unlikely they’d just let him leave on a free.
A loan move seems more likely, especially if it enables them to get him off their wage bill for the rest of the season.
It’s a shame that Jota has had little luck following his move. But if any manager can get a struggling player firing on all cylinders, it’s Ange Postecoglou.
Not only that, but Jota knows the Tottenham manager well, having worked with him at Celtic, and knows the Angeball system inside out.
Postecoglou himself previously deemed Jota “incredible”, while Barry Ferguson described him as a “difference-maker“.
If he were to join on loan, there would be little risk for Tottenham. They might as well give it a go, as they’d have little to lose and much to gain.
And if Spurs had the chance to sign him on a free transfer, then they’d basically be striking gold.
