With the January transfer window now open, Tottenham Hotspur now have the opportunity to bolster their ranks.

Spurs only have one senior centre-forward in their ranks and Antonio Conte could do with support for Harry Kane.

Tottenham have reportedly been eyeing Dusan Vlahovic in recent months.

The Serbia international is incredibly talented, so it’s no surprise.

However, Spurs are reportedly also looking at alternatives in case they fail to land the Fiorentina star.

According to The Express, Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca is “one to keep an eye on” in January.

The outlet claims the 23-year-old is “appreciated” by Tottenham director Fabio Paratici.

While Vlahovic apparently boasts a £65million price tag, Scamacca is reportedly a lot cheaper.

Gazzetta dello Sport – via Sempremilan – claims the Italian’s price tag is in the region of £25million.

Tottenham eyeing Scamacca – the story so far

Scamacca has emerged as one of Italy’s finest young strikers this season.

He had to bide his time to make his Sassuolo breakthrough following a number of loan spells.

However, Scamacca is now impressing in black-and-green, with six goals from 19 Serie A appearances this term.

The 6ft 5in striker is dominant in the air, holds the ball up well, can pick out a killer pass and is mobile for his size.

Former Italy Under-21 coach Luigi Di Biagio rates Scamacca highly.

“Given that in my opinion Immobile and Belotti are very good, I think Scamacca is very strong,” Di Biagio told Gazzetta, via Forza Italian Football.

“And I’ve been thinking about it for a long time.

“I believed in him to the point of calling him into the Under-21 very quickly.

“He can become a very high-level centre-forward.”
