Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo has hinted he could play Bryan Gil as Tottenham return to Premier League action on Saturday.

The Tottenham summer signing is arguably one of the most exciting young players at N17 given his talent, style of play and potential.

“[Gil] is right now the best player in Spain and I compare him with Neymar,” football.london quotes German Vaya Ballabriga – Barcelona’s Andalucia scout – as saying.

“He is so versatile, he can play at full-back, through the middle, on the left wing. He’s impressive.”

Gil has made three appearances for Spurs so far – two in the Europa Conference League and one in the Premier League.

And during the international break, the 20-year-old shone for Spain’s Under-21s in European qualifying action.

Indeed, he became La Rojita’s new captain, testament to how good he is.

For now, international action goes on the backburner as the league resumes, with Spurs heading to Crystal Palace.

Tottenham, who sit top of the table, will be eager to build on their impressive start to the season.

But with Son Heung-min a doubt for Saturday’s early top-flight kickoff, Nuno might need to replace him in the XI.

At Friday’s press conference, football.london asked the Tottenham boss whether Gil was ready if he needed him.

“All the players are ready to help the team,” replied Nuno.

“Some of them are more because it’s natural or because of their age or experience.

“But all of them are ready to be an option for tomorrow.”
