Spurs appointing Hansi Flick could help them secure Jerome Boateng signing

Spurs are continuing their pursuit for a new manager, although the list of names is getting smaller by the day it seems at the moment.

Daniel Levy is looking for a replacement for Jose Mourinho. However, he’s already suffered a few setbacks. Brendan Rodgers is said to be happy at Leicester, while Erik Ten Hag signed a new deal with Ajax yesterday.

That’s narrowed the list down somewhat for the Spurs supremo. However, rumours surfacing today suggest that Hansi Flick could be a manager who’s interested in the Spurs job. The Telegraph reports Flick is open to the idea of managing the Premier League side.

Flick would be quite the coup for Spurs if they do get him. Although there is talk of him taking over the German national team, Daniel Levy will be bouyed by claims that Flick is open to the switch to Spurs.

And another bonus for the club and Levy could be Flick’s links to his old club. Specifically, in the form of giant defender, Jerome Boateng.

Boateng to Spurs makes all kinds of sense

The former Manchester City defender is set to leave Bayern this summer. He is out of contract and after a trophy laden spell in Munich, is looking for a fresh challenge.

Football.London have reported previously how Boateng is ‘flattered’ by links to Spurs. Surely, then, if they do appoint Flick, they will look to use that natural link to land Boateng in the summer?

Spurs need a new defender. Jose Mourinho was intent on getting someone new in before he left, and it’s unlikely to change under any new manager. Boateng might be 32, but he’d be a brilliant option.

76 caps for Germany is some feat, while he’s won the World Cup, Champions League, and everything there is to win in Germany. You can’t buy that experience and on a free transfer, Boateng could be some signing.
