Spurs appointing Erik Ten Haag could help them land Ryan Gravenberch

Spurs are said to be working on appointing a new manager before the end of the season, with Ajax’s Erik ten Hag said to be of interest.

Ten Hag is said to be among the leading contenders to take the Spurs job. Julian Nagelsmann has joined Bayern, while Brendan Rodgers is said to be happy in Leicester.

The 51-year-old has done a fine job of things in Amsterdam with Ajax. His stock has risen in recent seasons, with his methods and way of playing, plus the way he handles young players, all things to admire.

And one of those youngsters might well appeal to Spurs as they puruse Ten Hag. That player is Ajax midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch, who is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the best young players in European football.

The 18-year-old has made 43 appearances this season across all competitions. He is apparently being courted by Chelsea but Spurs, if they get Ten Hag, will surely fancy their chances of landing Gravenberch.

Spurs to sign Gravenberch if they get Ten Hag

It is, of course, easy to speculate and put two and two together with things like this. But it’s also worth noting who current managers work with, especially if you’re Daniel Levy.

Ajax have produced some of the best young players in history in Europe. Gravenberch, it seems, is the next off the conveyor belt.

He is so good, that he has already drawn comparisons to Paul Pogba. His former coach, Brian Tevreden, even going as far to say he is already better than the Frenchman in some aspects of his game. (Goal)

Gravenberch is going to be a man in-demand this summer and beyond. He really is that good. If Spurs can get their hands on Ten Hag, who clearly has full trust in the teenager, then they might just be able to jump the queue.

And what a signing that would be to get Spurs fans immediately on board with the new manager appointment.
