Spurs ace wanted by Premier League club to replace 'brilliant' player they're selling - Romano
Spurs are reportedly close to selling Moussa Sissoko with just a few days left of the summer transfer window.
The Tottenham midfielder is apparently wanted by Premier League newcomers Watford.
Fabrizio Romano has been keeping Spurs and Hornets fans up to date on Twitter with regular updates.
In his latest Twitter post on the Sissoko to Watford speculation, he claims Tottenham are working to complete a deal.
Romano has also reported that the £80,000-a-week powerhouse is the Hornets’ primary candidate to replace Will Hughes.
On Thursday night, Romano claimed that both parties were “close” to a breakthrough.
Sky Sports have claimed that Hughes on his way to Crystal Palace for an initial £10million.
The 26-year-old, who former Watford boss Nigel Pearson has previously described as “brilliant”, is out of contract next summer.
Romano didn’t mention how much the Hornets could be paying for Sissoko.
However, The Mirror’s online live transfer feed (27/8/21, 9:30am) claims there’s “a £10million move in the pipeline”.

Sissoko has been a great servant for Spurs over the years, overcoming a tricky start to his tenure and becoming an important player.
However, the 32-year-old now seems surplus to the requirements of new Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
Meanwhile, Watford look set to lose Hughes, and what better replacement than a Premier League veteran who’s still got so much to offer?
Sissoko would no doubt strengthen the Hornets’ spine and provide so much experience and quality on the pitch and in the dressing room.
