A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to praise Lewis Warrington for his impressive performance on his full Toffees Under-23s debut.
David Unsworth’s charges hosted their Blackburn counterparts and ran out 2-1 winners, with all the goals coming in the first half.
Although the visitors dominated the early exchanges, Everton took the lead against the run of play as Josh Bowler played in Nathan Broadhead, who fired into the far corner of the net.

The Toffees then took advantage of more slack Rovers defending, pouncing upon a misplaced pass as Bowler fed Charlie Whittaker, whose shot deflected past Jordan Eastham.
The visitors responded by halving the deficit shortly before half time through Sam Burns, who grabbed his sixth goal from his last five games.
Burns intercepted a pass and fired towards goal, the effort carrying too much power for Isaac Price to keep out.
That was to be the last goal of the game as Everton hung on for a victory which saw them go up to seventh in the Premier League 2 table.
Several Toffees players impressed on the day but there was a lot of praise towards Warrington, who was excellent in the screening role – and on his full U23s debut too.
Here’s what some fans were saying on social media about the 18-year-old midfielder:
