When Fabio Paratici negotiated a deal to bring Bryan Gil to Tottenham, it seemed as if Spurs got the better of Sevilla in negotiations.
The Spanish side received a 29-year-old Erik Lamela, who had only scored three goals across his last two Premier League campaigns.
He may also have cost £21.6m as well, but in Gil, Spurs obtained a genuine wonderkid who has been likened to Neymar.
However, as things stand, Sevilla are probably happier with the outcome than Tottenham.
Erik Lamela has shone since leaving Tottenham
One media outlet who have been showering the Argentine with praise is Estadio Deportivo.
The Spanish outlet have described Lamela’s early form in Seville as ‘spectacular’ after he netted three goals in three La Liga games so far.

Estadio Deportivo add that he has been ‘so good’ that he even earned 73% of the vote for Man of the Match on his Champions League debut for Sevilla.
It’s safe to say he’s taken to life in Spain like a duck to water.
Should Tottenham regret offloading Erik Lamela?
Lamela is doing superbly well in Spain, although that doesn’t mean Tottenham were wrong to offload him.
As aforesaid, the South American’s goalscoring record over the last couple of seasons is woeful, and he wasn’t offering much to Spurs.

While Nuno Espirito Santo might have to wait for Gil to develop a bit more, he has unquestionably got the better of the deal in the long run.
Should Gil develop quicker than expected, both Spurs and Sevilla should be delighted with how negotiations turned out.
