‘Spectacular’: Arsenal fans rave about Nuno Tavares after Aston Villa win

Arsenal saw off Aston Villa tonight at The Emirates as Emile Smith Rowe burst into life to inspire them against the club who wanted him in the summer.

Smith Rowe scored and provided another on the night and was a constant thorn in the side of Dean Smith’s men. The Villans, in fairness to them, came on strong in the final 15 minutes and did pull one back through Ramsey.

However, in the main, it was an impressive performance from Arsenal and something Mikel Arteta will have been delighted with. And while Smith Rowe caught the eye with a MOTM performance, there were others who caught Gunners fans’ attention.

One of them was new signing Nuno Tavares. The young left-back stepped in for Kieran Tierney and delivered a display of exciting attacking football from his defensive slot.

It was the performance of someone out to impress, and Tavares certainly did that in abundance this evening.
