Kevin Campbell has raved about the ability of Real Betis attacker Nabil Fekir, who is reportedly wanted by Arsenal this summer.

Fekir, 27, is an attacking midfielder for Spanish top-flight club Betis.

He’s a left-footed playmaker that played in the France squad that won the most recent World Cup, and he joined Betis from Lyon back in 2019.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Gunners are leading the race to sign the Frenchman in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Goal have reported that Betis could be looking for around £26million for his sale at the end of the season, despite the fact he’s got a £77million release clause.

Arsenal-supporting pundit Campbell has hailed Fekir:

“I’ve watched him now in La Liga for a couple of seasons, he’s mustard,’ Campbell told Highbury Squad.

“His numbers were better last season, but he makes players around him so much better. He really does. He’s a special talent. He’s just coming into his prime now.“

TBR’s View:

Fekir’s return of nine goal contributions in 30 appearances this season, three goals and six assists, is somewhat underwhelming for someone of his ability.

But he’s certainly a creative talent in the final third, and was particularly dangerous during his time with former club Lyon.

He scored 69 goals and set up 46 assists in 193 games for French outfit Lyon.

If Arsenal can’t sign their current on-loan star Martin Odegaard on a permanent basis from Real Madrid this summer, perhaps Fekir would provide a great alternative to slot into the creative number 10 position at the Emirates Stadium.
