‘Special special player’: Arsenal fans rave about Martin Odegaard following Benfica draw

Arsenal secured a 1-1 draw with Benfica last night in what was a decent enough performance against the Portuguese giants in the Europa League.

Bukayo Saka got the all important goal for the Gunners. But in truth, it should have been more than a draw for Arsenal, who had a few good chances to take the game away from Benfica throughout.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was once again deployed in a more central position, with Odegaard, Smith-Rowe, and Saka all supporting him in behind. Dani Ceballos also got the nod in midfield, and he impressed too.

However, it was the performance of new man Odegaard that impressed some Arsenal fans on Twitter. The Norwegian looks to be finding his feet a bit in recent weeks and looked every bit the class act last night.

Indeed, Twitter was full of comments praising the Real Madrid loanee, albeit if some Gunners fans didn’t quite think he got enough of the ball.
