Rangers convincingly beat Dunfermline on Friday night in the Scottish League Cup – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were amazed by the performance of their star Scott Wright.

Steven Gerrard’s side ended a run of three consecutive defeats by thrashing Dunfermline 5-0 at Ibrox to reach the League Cup quarter-finals.

The Gers flexed their muscles to race into a four-goal advantage by half time. John Lundstram, Scott Wright, Ianis Hagi and Kemar Roofe were all on the scoresheet. Furthermore, Roofe tucked in a penalty in the second half to add extra gloss to the scoreline.

Rangers turn their attention to a Europa League play-off fixture next week before returning to league action next weekend.

Scott Wright earns major plaudits from Rangers fans

A selection of Gers supporters on social media believe that Wright was one of the major standouts from the Dunfermline result.

The winger made it two goals from five appearances for his new club after firing in a low finish past the goalkeeper on Friday night.

It’s his debut campaign with the Scottish champions after joining in the summer from Aberdeen and he’s got off to a quick start. There is a big task ahead of him though to break into the best XI because of the amount of competition in attacking positions.

Here are some Rangers fans praising Wright:
