'Special': Kostas Tsimikas names the Liverpool player he absolutely loves starting alongside
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has been hailed by his Reds defensive colleague Kostas Tsimikas.
Alexander-Arnold is one of the best right-backs in the world and is a perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s system, which hands the Englishman and Andy Robertson so much freedom to bomb forward.
Tsimikas also gets that freedom when he plays and he was brought off the bench on Saturday night against Tottenham with the Reds chasing a winning goal.
In an interview with official Liverpool club media, Tsimikas praised the England international ahead of another crucial clash with Aston Villa tonight.
Tsimikas hails Alexander-Arnold
“His right foot is unbelievable,” said Tsimikas of Alexander-Arnold.
“Me, personally, when I play with him I really enjoy it because he always looks for the 40 metre pass to me.
“The long passes, every pass is perfect.
“This guy has something special.”
Jurgen Klopp said back in March that he cannot believe that there are still critics out there who say that Alexander-Arnold is not an elite defender.
That is the most common criticism of the England international, but his quality on the ball is not in doubt and that is why he has frequently been touted for a role in midfield.
But Klopp has the ideal role for the defender, which Tsimikas knows as well as anyone how difficult it is to play in and he will be absolutely vital in the chase for all four trophies.
