Everton have been linked with the transfer of Valencia striker Rodrigo this weekend. However, reports in Spain have suggested a deal is unlikely.
The Sun have suggested both Everton and West Ham are fans of the Spanish international. Rodrigo reportedly wants to play in the Premier League again. The Spaniard spent a short spell on loan at Bolton Wanderers in 2010-11.
The report suggests a £30 million asking price may be on the cards for the player, although Valencia will initially ask for £70 million.

Everton fans would undoubtedly welcome the signing of Rodrigo. Some fans would have been lucky enough to see him score twice at Goodison Park in a pre-season friendly last summer. Therefore, his quality is known to the Toffees hierarchy and a top striker is needed at Everton.
But, despite the reports, El Desmarque in Spain paints an unlikely transfer picture. They state that Valencia will definitely not consider a sale at the £30 million price-tag mentioned.
The report also claims that Valencia ‘do not know of the interest’ from Everton or any other club.
So as much as Rodrigo might want a move to Everton, it seems Valencia are not going to let any deal happen easily. It also remains to be seen if Everton’s interest is more concrete than simple curiosity.
