La Liga club Alaves are keen on bringing West Ham United striker Lucas Perez back to Spanish football, according to Marca.
They report that the Spanish club’s striking options are looking slim with a host of loan players set to return to their parent outfits and that’s why Perez’s name is in the discussion.
The report says that Perez’s move is at an advanced stage, indicating that West Ham have not put up too much resistance to keep a player they only signed last summer.
Spotrac claim that Perez earns £80,000 per week at the London Stadium and that’s a significant outlay which Manuel Pellegrini likely feels he can better use on a younger, more effective hitman.

Perez looked a decent little cheap gamble last summer but hasn’t been able to impress Pellegrini enough to nail down a regular starting berth.
His entire spell in English football hasn’t really been a hit at all and perhaps returning to his native Spain could bring out his best form again.
There’s no talk in the report about a potential incoming transfer fee but anything the Hammers can get back will be a boost ahead of a big summer where serious investment could make them European contenders.
