Spain manager Robert Moreno has included Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos in his squad for the forthcoming European Championship qualifiers against Romania and the Faroe Islands.
Moreno was Luis Enrique’s assistant but has stepped into the breach after Enrique’s young daughter died, and has explained the nature of his position and what he wants to see from Ceballos.
He said, as per ESPN, “There is a very recent situation and we are not going to discuss that. I consider Luis a friend and friendship is above everything. If one day he wants to return, I would be delighted and be the first one to step aside and work with him. I enjoyed the situation we had before.
“I am not going to get into Madrid’s decisions because [coach Zinedine] Zidane is the one that makes the choices there [at Real Madrid]. I want [Ceballos] to play many minutes with Arsenal.”

TBR’s View – Ceballos needs to force his way into Emery’s plans for the biggest matches
Sunday’s north London derby perhaps provided an insight into Unai Emery’s plans for the big games; a workmanlike midfield trio behind his electric front three.
Ceballos needs to prove to Emery that he is reliable enough to play in those matches – getting him into midfield ahead of Granit Xhaka might be an idea – and then he will have every chance of maintaining his Spain spot.
He had an outstanding European Championship at Under 21 level and that has understandably caught the eye of the senior boss.
