Southampton transfer talk: Fabrizio Romano issues 'here-we-go' update
Southampton are on the verge of signing Lyanco from Torino, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Saints sold Jannik Vestergaard last week and they appear to have secured his replacement.
According to The Athletic, talks between Southampton and Torino moved quickly on Friday.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, Romano added that the move was very much on the home straight.
“Lyanco will travel to England this weekend, once details and authorization will be ready,” he wrote on Twitter.
“He’ll undergo his medical and sign with Southampton until June 2025, confirmed and here-we-go.
“Torino will receive €7.5m (around £6.5m) guaranteed plus €2.5m (around £2.2m) add ons from Southampton.”
Lyanco started his career at Sao Paulo before moving to Torino in 2017.
The 24-year-old also spent the second half of the 2018-19 season on loan at Bologna.
Lyanco, who represented both Serbia and Brazil at youth level, has also been linked with Watford this summer.
The 6ft 2in powerhouse would be Southampton’s sixth signing of the summer if he does join.
The Saints have signed Romain Perraud, Tino Livramento, Adam Armstrong and Theo Walcott permanently.
In addition, Southampton have snapped up Armando Broja on loan from Chelsea.
