Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be open to the sale of Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama. The Daily Mail has reported that the player is one of several that Spurs see as dispensable as they look to bring in some money and, potentially, new faces.
West Brom were recently linked with the player. However, the player is not interested in stepping down to the Championship – according to the Daily Mail.

So should Southampton try and bring him back to St Mary’s this winter?
Wanyama left the Saints to join Tottenham in June 2016. The deal was worth a reported £11 million. It was not an easy move for the Kenyan to make, who admitted at the time that he was sad to depart the South-Coast.
“You guys (Southampton fans) have always been there to lift us up when we were down, and to celebrate with us when we were playing well. I feel really proud that I got the opportunity to wear the Southampton shirt.
“I will never forget my time in Southampton Football Club, I will keep the club forever in my heart.”
– Wanyama comments after leaving Southampton
Well, a return could be good for all parties.
Southampton are currently in a relegation dogfight and need midfield reinforcements. Fans at the club will know all too well about how impressive Wanyama can be in midfield.
The player would also get to remain in the Premier League and the south of England. Wanyama is closing in on a return to action from a niggling knee injury and even a loan return would be a massive boost for Southampton.
If there is a chance to bring Wanyama back, then the club should seriously consider it.
