Southampton have joined the host of clubs interested in Dundee United striker Lawrence Shankland, according to a report by the Sun.
The report says that the Saints were in attendance as Dundee United took on Hibernian at Easter Road yesterday, where Shankland netted a stunning goal despite his side losing 4-2.
Celtic are named among the clubs battling for Shankland’s signature during a season where he has 25 club goals to his name already (Transfermarkt).
A pricetag of £3 million is quoted in the article and his manager Robbie Neilson reportedly doesn’t want to sell Shankland until the summer at the earliest.

TBR’s View – Players who know where the net is are always worth a punt
Some fans in English football may sneer at the Scottish game but players who know where the net is are generally worth a punt.
Especially at £3 million and aged just 24, with room to improve, Shankland would be a good signing and that is reflected in the host of clubs reportedly chasing his signature.
The Premier League would be a serious step up – and Che Adams has struggled to adapt after banging them in in the Championship – but Shankland’s lower transfer fee should convince the Saints that he is worth taking that risk again.
