Newcastle United are struggling for goals this season. And this poor form in front of goal is costing them points.

The Magpies slipped to the bottom of the Premier League at the weekend after losing at home to Brighton.

And their record of just six goals in nine league games has prevented them from picking up a single win this season.

Newcastle’s strikers are failing to find the net on a regular basis.

But the answer to their goal scoring woes could already be at the club. It is time for Elias Sorensen to step forward.

The 19-year-old grabbed his second hat-trick in just four games last night as Newcastle’s youngsters beat Aston Villa in the Premier League 2.

This takes the talented teenager’s tally to 11 for the season and he has impressed in the Checkatrade Trophy too.

Next weekend, Newcastle have a major chance to pick up their first win of the season.

They face fellow struggling side Southampton, who have just one win to their name this season.

This is the perfect opportunity for Rafa Benitez to promote Sorensen and let the young Danish striker inject some much-needed youthful exuberance into the first-team.
