A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Sunday People (9/8; page 61) over the weekend suggesting that Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men are one of the sides interested in signing West Ham United’s Grady Diangana this summer.
Plenty of Hammers fans may be expecting the wide-man to be involved in David Moyes’s plans next season. He was outstanding on loan at West Brom this past campaign.
He scored eight goals and contributed six assists as Slaven Bilic’s men clinched automatic-promotion. Unsurprisingly, the report claims that Moyes wants to keep the 22-year-old.
However, the Sunday People (9/8; page 61) also noted that the Saints are monitoring Diangana. They are joined in the running by Crystal Palace and Leicester.
The report notes that Diangana is valued at £15 million. So it will be interesting to see if any of his admirers make a move, and whether West Ham are willing to listen to offers.
‘This I like’
There are some Saints fans who certainly hope that a deal can done. Some have taken to social media to express their excitement at the links.
Admittedly, there are a minority who have suggested that Hasenhuttl probably does not need to use some of his budget on another attacker. But most appear to be in favour of a potential move.
Here is how some of the Southampton fans reacted to the reports linking them with the West Ham revelation…

Not sure why our fans keep going on about signing wingers such as Grady Diangana. Forgotten about Djenepo? Think he’s gonna be quality next season #saintsfc
