A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Takumi Minamino’s display as the Liverpool loanee made his debut for the Saints on Saturday.
Minamino was at the centre of one of the more surprising deadline day deals. The Japan international has left Anfield for the rest of the season having struggled for game-time so far this term.

He was unable to make his debut in midweek. But Ralph Hasenhuttl handed him a place in the starting lineup this weekend as the Saints faced Newcastle.
Unfortunately, it proved to be a miserable afternoon at St James’ Park for the visitors. They were beaten 3-2 despite coming up against nine men towards the end of the contest.

But Minamino did seem to be one of the few shining lights for Southampton. He scored a fantastic goal to get his side back in the game during the first-half.
The 26-year-old took an excellent touch to get round the defender. He then proceeded to smash a thunderous shot into the roof of the net.
It is certainly what Jurgen Klopp would have been hoping to see from the forward. And plenty of Saints fans have taken to social media to laud their January signing.
It was a hugely disappointing occasion for Southampton. But some are excited about what Minamino may do while he is on the south coast.
